PRE & POST CARE

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR WAX

Whether this is your first time to wax or you're a seasoned vet, there are a few tips and tricks that are important to know when it comes to achieving your smoothest wax.

-First, look at all of the ingredients of the products you are using at home. Many products, even medications can cause complication when it comes to waxing. If you are not sure if your products are safe, do not hesitate to reach out.

-Next, make sure the hair is long enough to grab with the wax. In order for the wax to adhere to the hair properly, it should be 1/4in.; the size of a grain of rice: Anything shorter can cause irritation to the skin, resulting in redness, bumps, and ingrowns.

-Don't forget to exfoliate a day or two before your wax. Exfoliating the skin will remove dead surface skin cells allowing the wax to stick to the hair rather than the skin. This helps the process to be less painful.

-You can wax on your menstrual cycle, just note your wax can be more painful.

-Safety is #1 priority. To avoid exposure of blood-borne pathogens in the wax suite, please wear a tampon or menstrual cup to your wax.

-Wear loose fitting clothes. This will allow your skin to breathe after your service and lower the risk of irritation or infection.

-Please inform Always Bikini Season ahead of time if you are on medication, if you have an active STD or STI, HIV, Hepatitis, yeast infection, skin conditions, or any other medical concerns.

HOW TO MAINTAIN HEALTHY, GLOWING SKIN

.STAY HYDRATED, MY FRIEND.

You may want to run to coffee or tequila, but caffeine and alcohol can cause you to become more sensitive, creating a more painful wax.

-Avoid touching freshly waxed areas.

-Avoid any sweating, sexual activity, working out, pools/hot tubs for 24-48 hours.

-Avoid sun exposure for 24-48 hours.

-If receiving a bikini wax, avoid tight fitting clothing at least 12 hours after wax.

-If you are prone to irritation, ingrown, red bumps we recommend to avoid wearing tight clothing often; such as leggings, tight underwear, skinny jeans, biking shorts, etc.

-If your skin is tender you can apply a cold compress on the waxed areas.

-Histamine reactions are common.

*Consult with a doctor if an antihistamine product is right for you*

Please note: your skin will need post care attention as well as products in order to achieve optimal results including but not limited to an exfoliant, ingrown hair serum, and moisturizer.

-Please be sure to exfoliate every 2-3 days, moisturize daily, and keep the skin clean.

-DO NOT PICK! This will cause more problems than you are trying to solve. You can create the hair to dig deeper in the follicle, infection, scaring, etc.
